Eudora is from the Greek eu (good) + dōron (gift). Her A Curtain of Green (1941), The Robber Bridegroom (1942), and The Golden Apples (1949) are works of American short fiction. Photographer for the Works Progress Administration during the Depression — her portraits of Mississippi are now in the Smithsonian.
