Šauška (also Shaushka) was the Hurrian goddess of love, fertility, and war — sister of the storm-god Teshub, counterpart to the Mesopotamian Ishtar/Inanna. Famous for the legend in which she was sent to the Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III to heal him — the statue of Ishtar of Nineveh that traveled to Egypt is recorded in the Amarna letters.
