Tsogyal (མཚོ་རྒྱལ་) means "victorious ocean." Yeshe Tsogyal (757-817) — "Wisdom Lake Queen" — was the principal female disciple and consort of Padmasambhava, who brought Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet. Among the most revered figures in Tibetan Buddhism.
